Routes to reach the summit area
There are three routes to reach the summit area of Mt. Huangshan.

Eastern Route
Travellers can take minibus from the Gate of Huangshan to Yungusi (Cloud Valley Temple) via Hot Springs Scenic Area. At Yungusi, there are two options to ascend to the summit,i.e. either taking cable car up or walking up by foot. It takes only 8 minutes to get to Bai'e'ling (White Goose Peak) but you may spend 2 hours in the queue. This route can be finished in 2 to 3 hours by hiking and it is much easier than the steepy western route.

  • There's a ticket booth at Yungusi where you can buy entrance ticket (CNY131) and cable car ticket (CNY66).
  • There's a VIP entrance of cable car 15 meters to the left of the entrance if you don't want to waste your time in queuing.

Western Route
It takes 15 minutes by minibus from the Gate of Huangshan to Ciguange, the western entrance of Mt. Huangshan. Hiking up from Ciguangge( Light of Mercy Pavilion) to Yupinglou (Jade Screen Pavilion) is an arduous work. The cable car takes you to the summit in 8 minutes if you want to save your energy.

  • Entrance ticket (CNY131) and cable car ticket (CNY66) are sold at the entrance.
  • No queue for the cable car.

Northern Route
The northern route starts from Song'gu'an ( Pine Valley Nunnery). There are several lovely ponds along the trail. The longest cable car system in Asia carrys you up from Song'gu'an to Paiyunting (Cloud Dispelling Pavilion) in West Sea Scenic Area. Because there are not many travellers take this route, you do not have to queue up for the cable car.

  • Entrance ticket (CNY131) and cable car ticket (CNY66) are available at Song'gu'an.
