Routes
to reach the summit area
There are three
routes to reach the summit area of Mt. Huangshan.
Eastern Route
Travellers can take minibus
from the Gate of Huangshan to Yungusi (Cloud Valley
Temple) via Hot Springs Scenic Area. At Yungusi, there
are two options to ascend to the summit,i.e. either
taking cable car up or walking up by foot. It takes
only 8 minutes to get to Bai'e'ling (White Goose Peak)
but you may spend 2 hours in the queue. This route can
be finished in 2 to 3 hours by hiking and it is much
easier than the steepy western route.
- There's a ticket booth
at Yungusi where you can buy entrance ticket
(CNY131) and cable car ticket (CNY66).
- There's a VIP entrance
of cable car 15 meters to the left of the entrance
if you don't want to waste your time in queuing.

Western Route
It takes 15 minutes by minibus
from the Gate of Huangshan to Ciguange, the western
entrance of Mt. Huangshan. Hiking up from Ciguangge(
Light of Mercy Pavilion) to Yupinglou (Jade Screen Pavilion)
is an arduous work. The cable car takes you to the summit
in 8 minutes if you want to save your energy.
- Entrance ticket (CNY131)
and cable car ticket (CNY66) are sold at the
entrance.
- No queue for the cable
car.

Song'gu'an ( Pine Valley Nunnery). There are several
lovely ponds along the trail. The longest cable car
system in Asia carrys you up from Song'gu'an to Paiyunting
(Cloud Dispelling Pavilion) in West Sea Scenic Area.
Because there are not many travellers take this route,
you do not have to queue up for the cable car.
- Entrance ticket (CNY131)
and cable car ticket (CNY66) are available at
